Stafford Town Board Public Hearing May 9, 2022
The Public Hearing was opened at 7:00pm by Supervisor Clement regarding the Local Law No. 1 of 2022. This Local Law is regarding Resolution 20 prohibiting parking on roads with the Town of Stafford from November 15 through April 15 from the hours of 6pm to 6am. In attendance were Councilman Panek, Mullen, Duyssen, Councilman Pacer was absent.
Phyllis Darling asked where the idea of Local Law No. 1 of 2022 came from, it was explained that there are areas around the town that have vehicles parking on the roadway during the winter inhibiting plowing of the roadways. Also explained was that when this Local Law is adopted, the sheriff will be able to investigate and ask for the vehicle be moved, or it will be towed.
Signage will be posted around the town of this law and the money for the signs will come from the budget as well as a Shared Services agreement with the County.
After all parties were heard Supervisor Clement closed the Public Hearing at 7:15pm.
