TOWN OF STAFFORD SPECIAL MEETING

AUGUST 2, 2023, DRAFT

Deputy Supervisor Ronald Panek led the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:08pm in the absence of Supervisor Robert Clement. In attendance were Councilman Panek, Councilman Schramm, Councilman Duyssen, Councilman Pacer and Town Clerk Radley. Absent were Supervisor Clement and Highway Superintendent Boldt.

In attendance from the public was Cathy Worthington.

This meeting is to conduct interviews for Code/Zoning Officer Part Time. The top three candidates from the last posting were considered and it was found that one of the top three was not interested in the position at this time.

The Town of Stafford is also investigating the possibility of having a Shared Services Agreement with the Town of Batavia for Code and Zoning services. The Town of Pavilion uses the Town of Batavia and is very happy with the results; it will be a cost savings for our Town as well. At the present time, the Town of Batavia is busy with the STAMP project in Alabama and will not be able to assist us at this time but are looking to hire more help and may be able to help us in the future.

Interviews will be held in Executive Session, Councilman Panek asked if there were any questions. Cathy Worthington asked if there were any new candidates, or if the past candidates were the only ones in consideration. It was clarified that only the past three candidates were considered, and one was not interested in the position at this time.

Councilman Schramm made a motion to adjourn to Executive Session at 7:12pm to conduct interviews and invited Code/Zoning Officer Gene Sinclair and Town Clerk Barb Radley to attend as well, second by Councilman Duyssen and approved on a 4-0 vote, Supervisor Clement absent.

Supervisor Clement joined the meeting at 7:13pm and entered the Executive Session at that time.
